other people's stuff.

Since Janelle and I are moving to West Philly in the not-so-distant future, I've become moderately obsessed with decor. Or at least, daydreaming about how amazing our house is going to be.

The Selby is a website devoted to photography by Todd Selby of the homes of creative people. Creative people (or as JT and I like to call them: "People who are poor for a living") have a lot of stuff. I can testify to this. My friends and I are always making statements like, "I'm just really trying to pare down my possessions." We love the verb "minimize." We use it as a single-word sentence. A command. A mantra. But (and I speak from experience), the best intentions fly out the window when one finds a really great thrift store, flea market, or yard sale.

The Selby motivates one to better utilize/display all of that "stuff." It's really inspiring for me, as a person with thousands of weird odds-and-ends.

i can't help but feel as though i was cut from the same cloth as this Todd Selby person. I love this site! I'm so happy you wrote about it. We also both have the name Todd...so maybe I'm just biased.
